Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, well-publicized-ly short on revenues this year, in the vein of diversifying their interests resorted to publishing fiction:

Intense warmup, everyone focused on the task at hand.

Charted above, is the Raptors’ attendance (red line) relative to their record and cost to attend a game - ranked out of 30 teams in the league. Points to note: Read the rest of this entry »
Like the White sox, yet, in basketball - and truer to the name…
Two games ago, I returned from a beer-run to notice the Raptors had the all-white lineup in, (a lineup we’ve dubbed BLANCA), so I did some light-hearted research to see who could field the best ‘all-white’ lineup in the NBA.

I had em like this (a close 1-2 tilt):
1) Raps: Calderon-Delfino-Kapono-Bargnani-Nesterovic (Brezec-Garbajosa)
2) Lakers: Vujacic-Karl-Walton-Radmanovic-Gasol (Mihm)
3) Blazers: Blake-Rodriguez-LaFrentz-McRoberts-Pryzbilla
4) Grizzlies: Cardinal-Jacobsen-Milicic-Miller-Navarro
Honourable mentions:
Indiana: Diener-Dunleavy-Foster-Murphy
Suns: Nash-Giricek-Piatkowski-Marks
Spurs: Barry-Bonner-Ginobli-Oberto*
Jazz: Korver-Kirilenko-Harpring-Okur*
Spurs and Jazz could probably play 4 on 5, and give the other teams a run for their money.
What Sam’s up to, when he’s not planning ways to come up with more shats. There are 64 of these gems. (click below to see ‘em all)

Where teddies indicate current SUSTAINED intensity from 0-10 (0 being Yogi Stewart, 10 Kevin Garnett) and grey bars indicate potential; ie. playing with KG or Stephen Jackson would probably bring each guy close to intensity potential.
Fresh off viewing the bloody battle that was the Denver-GoldenState game, it was tough to compare the intensity of any of the partaking players to that of the anemic Raptors . One legitimate knock on Sam Mitchell has been his inability to toughen, energize and breed some intensity in this Raptors team. Read the rest of this entry »
Keeping up the mathematic streak…
(and yes these positions fluctuate throughout seasons/careers for many reasons, but this is approximately where it lies now).

Courtesy reader Rhys Z:
“I’m preparing for the pregames of the playoffs like this, depending on the opponent.
Orlando - few drinks / well behaved, all things considered
Cleveland - copious amounts of alcohol / poorly behaved
Detroit - might not make it past the first half / atrocious behaviour
Boston - might not make it into the stadium / possible jail time”
